What's in store for you at the PLAY Exhibit?

The PLAY Exhibit is the brainchild of nineteen exceptional multimedia artists from De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde which aims to showcase the team's interpretation of "fresh perspectives and creativity with no boundaries as solutions to problems" or "Think. Play. Create." It incorporates puzzles and games that have influenced everyone's childhood and continue to influence ways of thinking and perceiving everywhere. PLAY emphasizes the importance of playfulness in the creative process and acknowledges that it is an integral part of finding solutions to various problems.

CSB Logos

The exhibit is a celebration of creativity and imagination. It will display each artist's creative portfolio that go beyond the boundaries of print, graphic design, web design and development, 3D animation, 2D animation, game design and development, photography and film. The team is composed of Zhaira Arcadio, Near Esven, Mark Buencamino, Chelsea Ciel Chan, Tricia de Ocampo, Steph Dycaico, Ayama Akuna, Rosevin Jacob, Abigail Javellana, Jei Lim, Sam Malimban, Viana Nable, JM Nalangan, Charlene Ngo, Joe Ortigas, Kaelo Pascual, Monmon Tan, Dale Toloza and Ken Yuson.

Play + Philippine Toy Library

PLAY is in partnership with the Philippine Toy Library, an organization that focuses on providing less privileged children in cramped, congested areas, the experience of play. It is dedicated to transforming idle spaces into fun and educational playrooms to keep kids off the streets. By partnering with PTL, the PLAY Exhibit becomes more than just a showcase of art and inspiration, but an avenue for sharing of gifts and learning with society's youth as well.

The event is to take place in Le Parc Event Hall, EDSA corner Roxas Boulevard, Metropolitan Park, Bay Area CBD, Pasay City, Metro Manila on August 23-24, 5-10PM, and is free of charge to all visitors.

Near Esven
Rannere Balagot a.k.a. Near Esven, is a 20-year-old artist based in the Philippines. He creates concepts based on fantasy and futuristic designs that came from the games he played. He creates 3D environmental concepts and designs, and has a background of field experience on filmmaking and editing videos.

Mark is a 23-year-old artist based in Manila. He took up Multimedia Arts in DLS-CSB, where he can excel and can stand out among the rest. He enjoys designing and making different artworks. He knows a lot like making websites, interactive CDs, editing videos, photography, graphic design and animation.

Ayama is a 19-year-old illustration artist from De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde. Known mostly for erotic and grim works, she can switch to more uplifting and friendlier styles in a heartbeat. She's a got a weird sense of humor and (surprisingly) has a deeper understanding of art than what most people expect.

Leo graduated as Best Thesis from University of the East - Kalookan, College of Fine Arts. During his college years, he joined and received awards from art competitions such as Artpetron, Shell National Art Competition and Metrobank Foundation. He also joined group exhibitions from galleries like Canvas Gallery, Vinyl on Vinyl Gallery, GSIS Museum and Cultural Center of the Philippines to name a few.

Quiccs Maiquez

Quiccs Maiquez

Quiccs has won several awards in the field of visual arts since his childhood years. He firmly believes in the fusion of graffiti art and electronic media. He wishes to push visual boundaries in his own, unqiue way. He is currently working as the Art Director for Burnwater Art X Design (www.burnwater.com.ph), and as toy designer, a proud member of the collective Red Mutuca Studios.

Budjettte Tan

Budjette is a talented Filipino comics writer who lives and breathes storytelling. Some of his best works are the indie komiks Batch 72 and Trese, both published under Alamat Comics. The award-winning comic book Trese, for an afternoon of mysteries and revelations, tells the story of Alexandra Trese, a supernatural investigator solving crimes committed by creatures from Philippine folklore.

Le Parc Event Hall

Situated right within the exclusive complex called Metro Park in Pasay City, Le Parc offers a strategic location in the booming Manila Bay central business district. Accessibility is also easy since these projects are located between two of Manila’s major thoroughfares – Roxas Boulevard and Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA).
